Adult and community education is at the heart of PATA training.
Our high-quality training programme supports:
-
volunteers - managing voluntary community provision – supporting the work of committees
-
staff - supporting and managing the day-to-day activities of childcare settings
-
parents and carers - supporting the growing and changing needs of young families
Some training is available to PATA members at preferential rates: parents, carers, committee, staff and volunteers from PATA member settings are themselves PATA members.

Your training could be subsidised!
APPRENTICESHIPS - level 2 and advanced level 3 are available at PATA. National Qualifications are part of the apprenticeship frameworks. Click here for information and see Spring Training Programme 2012 here.
National qualifications have changed!
The qualifications available with PATA from September 2010 meet the requirements of the QCF (Qualifications Credit Framework). The NVQ qualifications we have been working with for many years are still recognised and accepted but are no longer available for new learners. The new qualifications are known as Awards, Certificates and Diplomas and offer a far wider range of training opportunities for employed and volunteer workers. Employers can plan suitable full and part qualifications to support continuing professional development for their staff. For background information on the changes please see pages 16-18 of the PATA Training Programme Autumn 2010 here, and more recent updates see pages 17-22 Spring Training Programme 2012 here.
These qualifications support the roles of staff working with children and young people. PATA's Assessment & Training Centre is a registered training provider with City & Guilds and with CACHE, and receives excellent ratings from learners and employers. Our retention and achievement rates are in excess of 92%.
For details of courses see full programme and check website for updates. Applications and expressions of interest are invited using the National Qualifications application form, click here.
